Remarks & Notes |
We are greeted with exuberant smiles and waves by the three crewmembers of train 397 as it topped the hill at Copetown. Why was 397 a light engine move? We'd heard they were having problems with one of the units having "low fuel consumption". This unit (not sure if it was the offending one or not) was in the consist pointing east. At Aldershot, it was cut from the train, and run LHF to Hamilton Junction where it then took the Cowpath to run face-forward up the escarpment to who knows where. It was still being called as 397 on the radio. Don't know what happened to the rest of the train, it didn't leave Aldershot Yard before sundown. |
