Remarks & Notes |
A Hobart Day Shift Yard Job pulls baretables out of the old Santa Fe LA First Street Yard along the verdant banks of the bucolic Los Angeles River. The train is led by an ultra-rare GP40X. Although Santa Fe had no GP40s or GP40-2s (besides one ex TP&W GP40), they bought the largest fleet of GP40Xs: 10 units of the 23 built. This one was delivered in May of 1978 as #3809. All 10 Santa Fe GP40X's survived to work for the BNSF, but only 4 still remain on the roster as I type this. |
