Remarks & Notes |
Three classes of steam locomotive still exist today in Eritrea and they are all shown in this picture. The small 0-4-0 tank engines of the 202 class were the standard shunter locomotives of the system. They have been built between 1927 and 1937 by Breda in Milan. The 440 class Mallet locomotive has been built by Ansaldo in Genova in 1915. The larger locomotives of the 442 class were also built by Ansaldo in Genova but in 1938. |
