At Least Timmy is Watching for Trains – What can I say, the scene speaks for itself, it is just another Friday night at the train station in Fullerton. Really though, the situation was not as critical as it seems from the picture. If a person were to know how to read the signals including the ones behind me about 1/4 of a mile down the track out of the frame, they would know that the oncoming freight train was going to diverge onto Main #3 which is the track to right of the stopped Eastbound train. Course one's safety while playing on the railroad tracks all relative, since the Eastbound Southwest Chief was due to arrive at any moment on the track in the foreground that the children are standing on.
