Photographed about three miles into it's long journey from Roper, UT to North Platte, NE, UP's MRONP-14 picks up a little speed at CP RG745, Second South in downtown Salt Lake City. Three SD9043MAC units are in today's power consist with a single SD70M joining in the pull through Grant Tower. The nicely groomed track in the near foreground leads west of downtown Salt Lake City toward both the Lynndyl and Shafter Subdivisions that split from the Salt Lake Sub at Smelter Junction. Note the frightened pigeon flapping it's wings just ahead of the UP 8119's pilot.
