| Looking north on the ARR mainline the new DMU can be seen throttling up as it crests a small rise as it returns to the Spencer "Whistle Stop" to pick up passengers who have been enjoying a stunning later summer afternoon hiking to Spencer Glacier or enjoying a picnic on the shore of the glacial lake which can only be reached by a journey on the Alaska Railraod. This multi-million dollar conveyance continues a proud tradition of self propelled cars on the ARR from recently retired Budd RDCs to a McKeen car in the railroad's first decades.
