Remarks & Notes |
An SNCF Eurostar set climbs from the Channel Tunnel on on 12.13 Paris Nord to London St.Pancras service. In the centre background the Dollands Moor freight yard and old South Eastern main line can be seen. This is where international freight trains are examined before entering or leaving the Channel Tunnel. Immediately on leaving the yard inbound trains enter Sandling Tunnel which is directly underneath the high speed line where my photo is taken and cause of the climb as the two lines will come alongside one another in another mile or so. The high speed line to the continent runs down on the left hand side of the freight yard and there is a connecting line in the centre mostly out of view. |
