| After the stubborn spillways on the bottom of this ex-Southern ballast hopper were unclogged, the CLNA crew takes off dropping ballast along the mainline. Rock is being dumped from the front of the car while the rear wheels shove a cross tie along the railhead to spread the ballast out. Crewmen keep an eye on the crosstie and rails to ensure the operation goes smoothly. |
