Remarks & Notes
Steam on the Naugy! Railroad Museum of New England Crew Dispatcher Barb Walcott flags the private crossing at the WHYCo factory as Flagg Coal #75 charges northbound toward Thomaston Station with 3 heavyweight coaches in tow. This run-by for the Mass. Bay Railroad Enthusiasts proved to be a real traffic-stopper. The tracks at this location parallel old Waterbury Road quite closely. Needless to say, the absolute last thing the southbound motorists expected to find when they came upon this normally quiet stretch of road was a fire-breathing steam engine barreling toward them with its whistle screaming.
