| With a few glimmers of the setting sun still available, CNR 6218 heads south back to New London. These 6218 trips in 1966 were a rare tribute to the end of steam on the CNR. It was fitting that some of the trips ran on the Central Vermont and Grand Trunk through New England. 6218 was a grand looking engine with a Vanderbilt tender and impressive feeedwater heater it stood among the superpower engines of “Steams Finest Hour”. |
