When BNSF Chairman, President and CEO Matt Rose decides it's time to tour his railroad, he does so in style. On a spectacular spring afternoon in the foothills east of the Cascade Mountains, Executive Inspection Trip O-NWESHM2-11A rolls along the cold waters of the Wenatchee River with clean BNSF 7400 leading business cars Cajon Pass, Stampede Pass, Trinchera Pass, Raton Pass, Stevens Pass, John S. Reed and William Barstow Strong. This trip, sponsored by both Rose and COO Carl Ice, had started that morning in Vancouver, B.C., and would end the next afternoon some 950 miles distant in Shelby, MT. Fellow RP contributor Greg Weirich was one of the engineers in the cab for the run over Stevens Pass.
