Remarks & Notes

Don't remember a whole lot about this picture. The building on the left is the iconic former headquarters of the D&H. The train is probably the westbound Empire State Express. I was enroute between NYC and Montreal via the D&H. The building is still there but I believe the rest of what is in this picture would be unrecognizable today as a result of redevelopment. I wish it were more visible in the web version, but one of the really neat things about this image are the faces of the engineer and fireman in the cab, sitting at attention and ready to go, a classic pose for kings of the high iron.
