UP #1982 painted in a FO-Mopac scheme, is seen approaching the abandoned Old State Road bridge in Guilderland, NY as the leader on K64821. I am sure the crew probably couldn’t wait get off this thing after having to undergo a constant barrage of railfan’s (Like Me) taking there picture since leaving Buffalo. This is the second time one of UP’s Heritage units has visited the Capital District. The last time was back in January when UP #1994 came in on the Salad Shooter for Railex, painted in a FO-CNW scheme. Trains has reported that these units are going to be all painted in the not to distant future as the upkeep is just not worth the expense. Which I am sure Mr. Downing Jenks past president of the MOPAC would have said, let alone allowed to be painted in if could see this unit today in its flashy paint compared to the last MOPAC scheme that he authorized all engines to where.
