The original Hartwell Railroad from Bowersville to Hartwell was a cheaply constructed line, layed with virtually no grading whatsoever, the line hugs the contours of the rolling Georgia countryside. Sadly for the last few years there has been no customers on the original line, and like much of the Hartwell's unused trackage, it has been filled with storage cars. Here one string goes up and down a series of hogbacks, looking east towards Airline. Taken with permission.
