| I was surprised to see a VIA baggage car tacked on to the end of today's northbound Northlander until I got into Huntsville Station shortly after the train arrived to see the mayor greeting a swarm of cyclists and remembered this was the much touted "Bike Train". This is the first year that Huntsville was a drop-off point for the bikes with routes set up throughout the surrounding countryside. Previous bike trains only stopped here to drop off regular passengers. The baggage car will spend the next couple of nights parked at North Bay and be added to Sunday's southbound train to pick the cyclists back up and return them to Toronto. |
