| Exiting Green Mountain Mill on it's final trip to Longview, Wa. Weyerhaeuser's Woods Train crosses the South Fork Toutle River for the last time. The concrete span is a replacement; the result of another significant event that hit this region on a similar early May day 28 years prior. That would be Mt. St. Helens. Needless to say I wouldn't want to have been standing in this location back then. It was the St. Helens eruption that wiped out the upper portions of Weyco's Woods Railroad past Green Mountain Mill up Kid Valley to Camp Baker. Scanned From Transparency: Fuji RVP F |
