Remarks & Notes |
On October 20, a crash happened on the Budapest - Subotica (Serbia) mainline. An inattentive driver of an overloaded gravel truck and a northbound stack train crashed at a field crossing near the mines. Unfortunately, both the engineer and the truck driver died. As the consequence of the crash the locomotive (V43-1054) derailed to the trackside and leant to it's side. The wrecked engine and some cars with the containers were left on the scene for some weeks. Finally MÁV decided to clean the scene and carry away the damaged train on November 13 and 14. You can see the rescue process when the crane is lifting the locomotive and place it to the temporary bogies in the sunrise. |
