Remarks & Notes |
On a perfectly frigid New England day the hottest train on the line curls east a around the "famous" Pownal Curve along the icy Hoosic River on the former Boston & Maine mainline now operated by the Pan Am Southern. The "whiteface" Dash-9 was built in February of 2003. This train is carrying a block of 10 loaded auto racks on the head end destined for the newly opened (only three weeks prior to this photo) facility in Ayer, MA. Sharp eyes will note that the last rack is a clean white Providence & Worcester Railroad car. |
