In December of 1976 the Freedom Train was finishing up its' tour of the United States. December 10-15 saw the train, led by SP 4449, in St. Petersburg. Early in the morning of December 12, 1976, SP 4449 steams quietly in the sunshine at the Amtrak depot before the crowds arrive to take in the exhibits in the train.
