Remarks & Notes |
A tired looking SDL leads 6590 and the 55 cars of train GBSOA through Dafter late in the evening of a June day. It's westbound counterpart is still in Sault Ste. Marie, Ont. and the trains will meet at Soo Yard on the Michigan side of the border in about 40 minutes. This was the normal schedule for train traffic on the Gladstone-Sault Ste. Marie line at the time. The SDL's were good units for low speed branch line service. They tended to ride much rougher on faster track with an odd bouncing-lunge type motion unlike anything else. |
