Remarks & Notes |
Hearing the southbound Northlander calling for clearance south of Huntsville I hoped I'd catch it in sunshine down in Bracebridge as we were clouded over up here. Stood in a foot and a half of snow for half an hour in my running shoes before she finally came by, after the sun had dropped below the horizon of course. Fortunately there was enough sunshine bouncing off the underside of some clouds to provide enough light for a shot. On the shortest day of the year I knew it would be a crapshoot to get it in full sunlight anyway, but I decided the 20 mile jaunt was worth it just in case. Little did I know I would get an early Christmas present by catching a double-header (presumably because of extra coaches added for the holiday trips), the first time I've ever seen that! |
