| DFT 7295 and DQ 6347 leave the coast behind as they head inland near Wharanui. The South Island's 'main north line' line between Christchurch and the rail ferries at Picton features more than an hour of coastal running around Kaikoura and this northbound train will soon be heading into the Marlborough wine growing region which is famous for its Sauvignon Blancs. Of which I am a significant consumer. Just another reason to railfan this line from time to time...! |
