On the day after Christmas, I headed over to the ex IC&E line along the Mississippi River hoping to find some blue and gold locomotives, preferably a solid set. Well, I got my wish... sort of... with a little gray mixed in. Instead of IC&E or DM&E power, there were four CSX units; two SD40-2s, an ES44DC, and a C40-8W. Here they lead a southbound ethanol train through the Green Island Wildlife Refuge to Savanna, IL, where they will head east to Chicago. Gerry Miller has a nice photo of the whole consist as it sat in Dubuque on Christmas Day. You can see it here: http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=349607
