Today's West Local is led by BNSF GP30u 2421. She was built in May of '62 as a Phase Ia GP30, serial number 27208, part of order number 7622 (ATSF 1200-1234). Later rebuilt as a GP30u with new electricals and 645 power assemblies, the unit has worn the ATSF numbers 3221 and 2721 before becoming the BNSF 2421. The 2421 demonstrates her immaculate (for 2008) paint while switching the east end of Lometa yard.
