General San Martín Railroad's ALCo.-MLW FPD7 #8424 enters South Yard at Palmira, Province of Mendoza, with a train of tank cars loaded with oil from the Malargûe fields. The old yard was the receiving one for oil trains bound to the Luján de Cuyo Refinery. When traffic ceased to exist on the early 1990's, and the trains were sadly replaced with a pipeline, the railroad found the yard no other use and so decided its abandonment.
