Remarks & Notes |
It is a spectacular clear and bright early fall day in the Last Frontier and the birch trees are golden yellow. A tiny dusting of snow can be discerned on the peaks of the Chugach to the east. In this view from the cab of GP38 2001 we see a pair of clean geeps that the hostlers are backing on to a cut of southbound Whittier traffic on the Open Rip (the track to the left) at the south end of the ARR's main classification yard. Note: the photographer is a railroad employee with permission to be on the property and was wearing all required PPE while taking this photograph. |
