| The morning sun glints off the side of westbound Amtrak San Joaquin 710 as it crosses the drawbridge at Middle River on June 21, 1988. As it races across the Santa Fe line that crosses California's delta region in the northern part of the state, passengers enjoy scenery that is vastly different from most of their trip up California's San Joaquin Valley from Bakersfield. Before long this train will transfer to Southern Pacific trackage in order to complete its run to urban Oakland - yet another change of scenery for the passengers to enjoy. |
