Remarks & Notes |
By 1990 the Soo Line was long gone from my Upper Michigan haunts and the WC still held little interest to me with the mixed power sets of units roaming the area in their former owners paint schemes. At the time my favorite road was probably the CNW. Although they were slowly fading away by that time too. The C628 fleet was still rusting away in Escanaba and a good number of the first generation power that made CNW such a great road to follow was being sent off to the scrap yards. In late summer of 89 the CNW added a bunch of C40-8's to the roster that were assigned to the coal lines of Wyoming. The following Spring found us headed to Wyoming to get shots of the new C40-8's. This was before the coal line was really up and humming. This shot has 8517,8513,UP 6154 rolling 115 loads east at West Shawnee. |
