Remarks & Notes |
The Building Tunnel. One of the more interesting features of Boston railroading is the Grand Junction Branch's building tunnel under one of MIT's many research buildings. MBTA's Terminal Switcher is a regular on the branch, and uses it to deliver bad-order cars and locomotives to the shop at the Somerville end of the branch. This view, of the job returning from Somerville to the Southside, was captured from an MIT parking lot on Vassar Street. |
