Redbeard arrives! A historic journey writes the final chapter having finished it's weekend run. Pacific Railroad Society's Diamond Jubilee Excursion, celebrating 75 years of PRS livelihood, raked in the rare mileage running from LA to Bakersfield via the Colton-Palmdale Cutoff & the famous Tehachapi Loop under the supervision of Amtrak, Union Pacific, & BNSF. A special thanks to Amtrak management for arranging the train's power (fitting considering the last PRS trip over Tehachapi, a run made popular by the Society at that time, ran some 35 years ago) & to all parties involved for pulling off a flawless excursion.
