The line from Rheineck up to Walzenhausen is only 1.9 km long, with a maximum grade of 25.0 % (Riggenbach cogwheel system), the journey is only 6 minutes. The railcar was built in 1958 by SLM/FFA/BBC, the gauge is 1200 mm, overhead wire with 600 V DC.
