| CNW 6721,6712,6724 have the Groveland Empties in tow as they work RR east but compass west near Bark River. CNW crews called this job the Antoine turn. It normally had a 11AM call time at Escanaba and worked to the Milwaukee connection in Iron Mountain where CNW swapped the empties for loads that MILW. had brought from Groveland mine behind some pretty decrepit F's. For a time in the 70's CNW power had run through to the mine but by the time of this photo that was not a common occurrence. |
