Having met an eastbound coal train in the distance, a colorful westbound stack train blasts through downtown Lexington, passing by the local elevator's power. The stark landscape of west central Nebraska allows the parade of Union Pacific trains to take center stage, and, for me at least, this display of modern railroading is almost as awe inspiring as watching trains struggle through beautiful mountain vistas.
