| Polson Logging Company 2-8-2 #70 pulls into the Elbe, WA depot on its first day of revenue operations.
This locomotive was the subject of a nearly 10 year long restoration project at the Mt Rainier Scenic Railroad shops. The locomotive required a total restoration. The running gear was completely rebuilt, and the engine also required extensive boiler work.
The engine runs and sounds great! The lack of boiler lagging and jacket is only temporary. After completion of the engine's break-in period, the boiler jacketing will be installed and a final paint job applied. |
