Amtrak Vermonter train 55 rolls southbound toward Richmond, VT on newly installed continuous welded rail as part of the ARRA High Speed Rail Project. The train - head end P42DC 204 - is seen on the New England Central's Roxbury Subdivision.

The successor to the Montrealer, the Vermonter runs between St. Albans, Vt., and Washington, DC. Much of the northern part of the route runs along the Connecticut and White Rivers.
