Remarks & Notes |
The WC was very friendly to rail enthusiast's for most of it's existence and I used to spend so much time hanging around the North Fond du Lac shop that I probably should have had my own parking spot. I had been chatting with the shop foreman the evening before about the cobbled up 3008 and he told me that if I was up early in the morning I probably could get an uncoupled shot of her as she was brought out of the shop and placed in the consist of train 46 for delivery to the WSOR at Slinger. The shop had spent quite awhile rebuilding this unit that was bought from CSX . It was coming out of the shop and heading straight for the WSOR Horicon paint shop as WC didn't want it running around looking like this. Anyway I was up at the crack of dawn and down to the shop but the unit was already stuck in the lash up and getting ready to depart the shop track when I got there. WC 3003, 3008, 6521, 6578 are about to depart the shop and will head into the yard to get their train and the 3008 will be off to get a fresh coat of WC maroon and gold. |
