Remarks & Notes |
Chicago & Eastern Illinois Obtained by the Missouri Pacific in 1967, the C&EI allowed the MoPac to gain direct access to Chicago from St. Louis. The C&EI would operate as a unit of MoPac and thus all rolling stock and locomotives retained their C&EI reporting marks but were given the “buzzsaw” logo with C&EI in place of the traditional “Missouri Pacific Lines” lettering. Even new rolling stock purchased before 1976 was painted and lettered for the C&EI. MoPac did not gain full control of the C&EI until Oct. 15 1976. |
