Remarks & Notes |
How lucky am I? Usually the worst looking, dirtiest and most beat up unit leads the trains I see and photograph; but not today. This loaded coal train has a pristine AC4400CW on the point. It is by far the best looking of the remaining 3 units. The 2 rear DPU's are dirty and grimy and the ex SP AC4400 has seen better days. The train just finished loading at the Skyline Mine at the end of the Pleasant Valley Sub in the mountains of Utah. It is headed north crossing the verdant meadow at the upper end of Scofield Reservoir and will shortly begin following the Price River down to Colton, Utah and a mainline connection to the Provo Sub. Colton is just east of Soldier Summit. This train's destination is the North Valmy Generating Station west of Battle Mountain, Nevada. |
