| Sunrise on a highveld winter morning. A South African Airways Airbus A340 is on final approach to O.R.Tambo International Airport, the passengers and crew no doubt oblivious to the steam action below, as Sandstone Heritage Trust's ex- SAR class GMAM garratt enters Reefsteamers' depot at Germiston with a fine display of smoke and steam. On the right is an ex-SAR class 14R 4-8-2 awaiting future restoration, plus two power cars in the old SAR passenger livery of gulf red and dove grey. |
