Utah Transit Authority's new Mid-Jordan and West Valley TRAX lines will open for revenue service on August 7, 2011. On August 3rd, UTA and the Utah Food Bank collaborated in the “Food for Fare” food drive. A non-perishable food item became the fare for ridership on the new routes between 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. Here anxious riders await the arrival of brand new Siemens LRVs at West Jordan City Center Station. The municipality of West Jordan also joined in the festivities with a Fire Truck, Ambulance, and other emergency response vehicles on display in the parking lot.
