| Progress marches on! This critter is one of two recent arrivals to ATI. The Republic RX-500 is set to replace the aging GE switchers serving the ATI stainless steel plants. AC traction virtually eliminates wheel slip and is its' tractive effort is the equivalent of an EMD SW1000 or GE 144 tonner. Gamer alert-- joy stick control! Nice addition to simulator. These are exclusively designed for the switching market. |
