South of Fredericksburg, between Hamilton and Olive, the RF&P passed across a large fill in its climb away from the Rappahannock River. This location was known as "Eastern View" to the folks on the RF&P. It was so named because the view to the east was beautiful and you could see for miles, an accomplishment in relatively flat central Virginia. Although I haven't been there in a while, I feel confident that the fill has since grown up in trees and the view isn't any longer possible. The sharp eye will note that the lead unit on southbound No. 227, GP35 No. 131, has shut down on the climb out of Fredericksburg. The engineer can be seen trying to restart the unit as the train struggles up Summit Hill.
