Just 20 days since the Hurricane/Tropical Storm Irene laid out a path of destruction through Vermont, severing both the state's rail carriers in multiple locations. On September 16, with little fanfare for much of the trip, the VRS restored their Green Mountain Railroad Bellows Falls Subdivision and ran the first revenue train since Irene's passage. Passing through Jackson Gore, the VRS 263 is led by VTR GP40-2W 310, VTR GP38-3 205 and VTR GP40-2 307. Many more photos at http://steelwheelsphotography.com.
For the train and storm chaser. Trains with thunderstorms, dark clouds, rain, lightning, hurricanes - tropical storms, funnel clouds, storm light, rainbows, and snow storms.
