| It’s almost been twenty years since I stumbled upon this location. I was on a Motorcycle Delivery to a customer who lives a few doors up from this spot. As he was engrossed in his new motorcycle I was awed by the view he and his neighbors had of the Schoharie Valley from there back yards. As I stood there I remembered back to seeing pictures taken around this area of the D&H in the 70’s. Of course that was when this area and many others across the northeast were not all treed in like they are now. I always wanted to get a shot of a train snaking its way through the valley just like many others did in the past. But the only problem was these same views by the late 80’s and 90’s were pretty much treed in. Unfortunately it’s very sad that it took a major Tragedy to strike the Schoharie Valley to remove the trees that obscured the view. |
