Remarks & Notes |
It is a damp and dreary early fall afternoon as seen from one of ARR's cab cars (former Amtrak F40PH #244) on the rear of Alaska Railroad's Hurricane Turn as we fly through Chase, Alaska at 63 mph. On the head (south) end of the train, GP40-2 #3011 provides the power and HEP for the train consisting of one baggage car and two coaches. The Hurricane Turn is one of the last flag-stop mainline trains in the United States and is well worth spending a day on for anyone visiting the Alaska RR. Photo taken and posted with Alaska RR permission in the non-controlling cab car. |
