As an Alton and Southern transfer pulls a cut of cars out of the yard, an interesting 3-train meet occurs. The transfer, with a set of venerable ex-MP SD40-2s and two GP38-2s, and a BNSF coal train are both slowly crawling eastward. By pure luck, an STL Cardinals-wrapped Metrolink light rail train zips by on the outside electrified line, also heading east. Though the freights are moving slowly, the action was quite busy momentarily at UP's 12th Street Yard. Note the Amtrak station in the background.
