Remarks & Notes |
Everything you see here is not "TOTALLY GONE" but most of it is! BN train # 137 rolls through the site of the former NP coach yard in Seattle with GP35/GP9/GP35/GP10/GP10/GP9 for power en-route to Vancouver, WA. With the addition of Sounder commuter train services between Seattle, Tacoma and Everett the railroad infrastructure in this area has been completely rebuilt and is hardly recognizable in the photo above. Looming in the background is the Kingdome which was imploded in 2000 after lasting only 24 years. Instead of sitting inside the confines of the Kingdome it seems residents of the Seattle area much prefer being outdoors during their leisure time while enjoying a sporting event; albeit with a roof over their heads just in case the inevitable happens and it rains. |
