On Sunday, November 6th, 2011, the gallant crew of the Bel-Del line brought their Tang Shan built Mikado up to 83.6 mph. This was only a trial run, but hopes are high that the engine will be able to achieve 88 mph, the speed necessary to return her to 1991. That, in turn, will afford the crew a chance to prevent the sinking of ill-fated Norwegian freighter S.S. Braut which carried Mikado #141 but sank under 6,000 feet of water in the bay of Bengal. God speed, guys!!
