Remarks & Notes |
This night shot is of US S160 loco no. 5197 is parked outside the shed at Cheddleton, on the Churnet Valley Railway. The loco was built by Lima in 1945 for the United States Army Transportation Corps of Engineers (USATE). It was shipped from the US to China, where it hauled coal trains there until the mid 1990s as Chinese State Railway's class KD6 No 463. The loco was rescued from being scrapped by the Chinese coal industry and brought to the UK in 1995. It is currently out of service awaiting its next overhaul. The photo of the stationary loco was taken using three remotely operated flashguns. |
