Remarks & Notes |
Conrail OI-16 arrives at Browns Yard after a slow ride down the Amboy Secondary. The unused catenary poles at this location reveal the PRR-heritage of this historic line. The Camden & Amboy was chartered in 1830 and is considered to be the first railroad in New Jersey (and one of the first in the United States). The C&A later became part of the Pennsylvania Railroad. Today this line is operated by Conrail and is still fairly active, although it is no longer a through route. Lead unit CSXT 8886 is former Erie Lackawanna SD45-2 3676. |
